Rest in Joy with Jesus

It is with great sadness that we have to tell you that our youngest daughter, sweet Aimee Katherine, has been called home to the Lord after an accident in front of our house. She slipped away from us and into the loving arms of her Jesus yesterday afternoon. Kyrie often wrote "Jesus Loves Me" on Aimee's hand, much to her delight. She would always be sad when it washed away and she'd say sorrowfully, "My Jesus is gone." We always told her that He was never gone and now she will be in His wonderful presence forever and she knows that He was never gone, but always with her.

She brought such joy to us and everyone she met in her three short years. We are so thankful for every moment we had with her. Please pray for us, and especially her brothers and sisters, as we walk through the long grieving process. We do not grieve as the world does, without hope, but we do grieve. I cannot imagine going through this without God beside us, giving us the strength we do not have- but it is still very, very hard.

We love you, Aimee, and we miss you so much. Until we meet again.

Praying for you and your family. We loved Aimee so much, and can't imagine how hard it is. But "I lie down and sleep; I awake again, because the Lord sustains me." Psalm 3:5. He will get you through this. And we are here for you and your family every step.

I can't even say "I'm sorry" or "Everything happens for a reason" or any other comment because they seem so hollow. Just know that we are thinking about you and that we will hug our own kids a little longer as they leave for school this morning. We only met Aimee once and her beautiful little face left such an impression on me because she looked like Mama Jo. We will pray for your family.

Dear Tartan, Naomi, Alex, Kyrie, Aidan. Abigail and Kayleigh
I wish I had known your precious Aimee-we have so many happy memories of you from the years you spent with us in Scotland; your love for each other was such a joy to see but greater still your love for the Lord Jesus Christ. I wish we could hold you in our arms right now but please be assured that we are weeping with you and praying for each one of you. Love from Ian and Shona

Father, right now I lift up the Colliers to you. It is not for Aimee I pray, because you are holding her in your arms right now. But even as they know that, their arms ache for her. Shadow them with your protectiveness and peace. Remind them that you put every one of their tears in a bottle. Amen. Love you very much, Colliers, I will continue to pray.

Tartan and family, I am so very sorry to hear of your profound loss. Nothing I can say or do will even begin to compare with your grief and pain right now. You are doing the right thing by turning to Our Holy Father and His son, Jesus Christ. Although it is often said that time heals all wounds, this is one wound that time will touch. As you watch your footsteps through this period of your lives, you will see that there is only one set, because Jesus is carrying you all through this.

My heart goes out to you . . . I saw on Carla McDougal's FB to pray for your family and your blog link. I ache, as we know the pain. Our 16 year old son died in an accident in our home, found by his younger siblings, just over 7 years ago, right before Christmas. I know the fog you are in now . . . I know the pain you will face, but with you, have that unspeakable HOPE and FAITH that we will see and hold our children again in heaven. This side of heaven is so hard and can tear at our hearts terribly, but God is continually holding on. Let others help carry you. I will pray for your family as your name comes to mind.
