Packing

The packing is moving along very quickly. Tartan likens it to being just ahead of an avalanche- we get an area ready for packing and *whoosh* it's all packed up! The house has more of an "echo" feel each day. I stopped working on this post and it's now Wednesday. All the sea ship items have been packed up and taken away. They'll come back on Monday to pack up the items for the air ship. Tartan is in the process of making all the changes necessary to have us fly out on Tuesday instead of Wednesday. I don't take to such big, sudden changes very well, but I'm trying to be sanguine.

To change the subject...

We had a great weekend. Tartan got home just in time for our silent auction or "fire sale". It was fun and we got rid of just about all our UK-only items. On Sunday, friends hosted the annual AWANA end-of-year party and the weather was actually very nice. The kids ran around playing with their friends and Tartan and I sat about and chatted. And we all ate really well.

In other news, we are buying a house! It's a 4200 sq ft house on an acre of land surrounded on 2 sides by a lake with fountains in it. The few pictures that are online and Tartan's descriptions tell me that it's a gorgeous house. The only downsides are it only has 4 bedrooms and there's currently no "Bug fence". We'll be able to move kids around (or send them out to the yard to camp out) whenever we have visitors and we'll have to build some kind of enclosure in back to keep Kayleigh away from the water. We're already thinking about a wooden swingset\fort and an enclosed trampoline. The master "retreat" has a sitting area with a gaslog fireplace and a door out to the back patio.

That's all for now. It's been hectic and obviously a big disruption in our lives, but with the help of so many friends it's gone well so far!

Trusting in the Lord,

Naomi for the Colliers
